Description
The gas supply was isolated within the basement gas cupboard area. Natural gas within the 4 inch pipework main serving the 9th floor boilers was purged to outside safely using the correct equipment including a purge stack.
Welding plant was set up within the designated work area (Gas meter room).
The new 4 inch gas solenoid valve was installed within the pipeline using traditional welding methods.
Electrical connections were then carried out which allowed for the gas solenoid valve to be in the open position.
The gas supply was re-commissioned and tightness testing carried out.
New gas pipework painted yellow ochre.
